Back from the Land of Smiles on monday afternoon. Just haven't found the time to blog. Was really busy. Didn't buy much as I couldn't find stuff that catches my eye. Or rather the places we went didn't have what I wanted or there wasn't enough time. But it was still enjoyable.

Day 1: Singapore-Bangkok (Cathay Pacific)
Had Haagen-Dazs on board the plane
Plane touched down at around 3-4pm. Checked into the hotel and the rest off the day was free and easy. Went to MBK (some shopping ctr). Since it is a shopping centre, prices of products are usually much higher and of course no bargaining. Didn't buy much as I thought that there will be another 4 more days to shop at places that will have stuff sold much cheaper. After MBK, we proceeded to Chinatown hoping to see some CNY lighting/deco but to our disappointment, there were nothing but roadside food stalls in their pushcarts. Shops all close.

Day2: Bangkok -Pattaya
First was a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River in a 'long' boat. Passed by the old royal palace and royal boat centre where all royal family's traditional boats are kept (to be used once a year on the King's Birthday). Stopped over at some old temple. At this temple, Edna and I saw those old wooden figurings (which have a hole in them for us to place our face in them and take pictures) and decided to take pics. We thought those were free like in Disney land. The moment we took the pics, this cunning man came out from his hideout and demanded 80 baht while pointing to this almost faded-small sign at the foot of the wooden figurings. Next we carried on the boat ride to some pathetic floating market which had only 2 boats. The guide said that this particularly 'floating' market trade is dying off in Bangkok as the rise of supermarkets and convenience stalls simple made it easier for people to buy stuff then to get into the water and row a boat. It's only food! Worst still, the boats there were not selling food stuff but souvenirs. The other floating market which is outside Bangkok is still thriving. After the floating market, we went on to fed some fish in the river. They were huge. The whole school of them! En-route to Pattaya, stopped over at some Gem factory. Can't stand going to all this places. Waste of time. Following the Gem Factory, we went to see some tiger zoo. Won't say much. But poor animals! Tasted crocodile meat there for the first time. Caused me to develop a sore throat. Though tender, it was really 'heaty'. Watched some ladyboy show.Lol! Proceeded to some 'Walking Street'(we thought there will be shopping) in Pattaya which contained nothing but pubs and bars. The whole 1km +stretch! Gosh! Loud music! Hookers every where with those Ang-mohs! I must say that we wasted our time there for there was nothing to shop. But it was an eye-opener to see how cheap, how sad their lives are. And of course how fortunate I am to have a good life which I owe to the Lord and my parents.

Day 3: Pattaya
We were suppose to go an Coral Island. As with its name, corals was the main purpose for tourist to go and visit the Island. The guide told us that most of the corals had already die due to pollution and over harvesting. So there was practically nothing left. Furthermore we didn't want to do water sports. The trip was cancelled! Slept in bed! Went to some Nong Nook Village in the afternoon. We all expected it to be some tribal thing like those bai tribe...etc but it ended up being some cultural and elephant performances. Those elephants were really cute and smart. Proceeded to some honey factory. Day ended with a night walk along the streets surrounding our hotel.

Day 4: Pattaya- Bangkok
First stop was some Herbal centre! Gosh yet another one! We cancelled a trip to Dreamworld. Thought there was no point going there already since we were no longer kids. Plus we visited the one in Aussie land years ago. Proceeded directly back to Bangkok and went to the Chatuchat Weekend Market.

Day 5: Bangkok- Singapore
